As a longstanding specialist in savings plans for children, the Children's Mutual, (formerly the Tunbridge Wells Equitable Friendly Society) played a significant part in the planning of the Child Trust Fund and is now one of the leading CTF providers.
One of the changes necessary to meet the challenge of this new government backed product involved vacating its freehold building in Tunbridge Wells and moving to modern refurbished space at Brockbourne House, Mount Ephraim.
Gifford Grant was appointed to carry out the entire acquisition, structural survey, space planning, interior design and fitting-out. This path was chosen to leave the management free to drive through the extensive business changes required within the organisation.
The project was completed within budget and on time. The introduction of extensive hot-desking made possible by the office design, and by the modern cable managed furniture provided under the contract, meant that the space acquired provides flexible accommodation for staff visiting the office for short periods, and a higher head-count than conventionally possible.
The contract also provides for on-going facilities support in order to minimise the personnel involved in administration and facilities functions.
